The bay flats and the little lead tops on the villas nearly always let go where they abut a wall or a parapet, and the extension flats let go where they run in under the main slope, so those junctions are where the work goes. We dress new lead up the upstand and lap it into the brickwork, which turns the water back before it can find the joint. Anything we relay is set to a fall as well, which feeds the rain down into the gutter and off the roof, instead of letting it lie in a slack spot and soak back in through a joint.
